Kate McCann, the mother of Madeleine McCann who went missing 11 years ago, celebrates her 50th Birthday today.
Kate and her husband Gerry, 49 have never given up hope that Madeleine could still be alive today.
A friend of the family told The Sun, ‘Kate’s only Birthday wish is to find out what happened to her eldest child and she hopes and prays that police will be granted extra funds to carry on their important work to help find her.’
Kate will have to face her 11th Mother’s Day without her daughter on Sunday.

Madeleine would be 14 years old, nearly 15 years old, if she is still alive today.
Her younger twin siblings, Sean and Amelie, recently celebrated their 13th Birthday, and the family said prayers for Madeleine.
Madeleine was taken from her family’s holiday flat in the Algarve Resort of Praia da Luz in Portugal on May 3 2007, whilst her parents were dining with their friends in a nearby restaurant.

Danny Collins, a veteran investigative journalist, recently revealed his abduction theory.
He said that Madeleine may have attempted to leave the flat by herself in search of her parents, because the window shutters could not have been opened from the outside, and that she may have been found by a stranger outside, and sold to gypsies.

The Metropolitan Police have applied for a funding of £150,000 to pursue a ‘significant final line of inquiry’.
They have less than four weeks left of their current funding.
Last month, the Daily Mirror revealed that Kate and Gerry raised £728,508 for the ‘Find Maddie Fund’ so that they could continue to use private investigators to search for Madeleine.
